  • Hello Sébastien, can you tell us about your career before joining Kosmos?

I completed my entire higher education Course alternation in Metz, starting with a BTS in business computing, followed by a professional degree specializing in e-commerce. Before joining Kosmos, I worked for over 20 years in the development of digital solutions in a wide variety of sectors. During this time, I was involved in programming in the broadest sense of the term: websites, e-commerce sites, databases...

  • What made you want to join Kosmos?

Kosmos' business and customers are located all over the world. I have the opportunity to work with prestigious international schools. As someone who loves to travel, I immediately embraced this openness to the world.

  • Your career at Kosmos?

At the time, I was hired as an analyst-developer to support the switchover of our School management application to the web. A purely technical position.

As time went by, I began to run training courses for Schools abroad, to help our customers get to grips with our tool. This enabled me to visit cities I'd never been to before, such as Rome and London. I gradually moved away from development towards a more functional activity, which came about naturally.

Today, I work with customers when they have requests concerning the management part of our product. We work with around forty Schools abroad. The functional subjects are very wide-ranging. The functional support team handles requests, and I take over for more specific or complex issues. It's up to me to come up with a solution, or to see if we shouldn't work with the team to create an evolution to meet the customer's needs. My technical background helps me translate needs to the development team.

As Quality Manager, I make sure that our Services deliver a satisfactory level of Reply to the customer and that we respect our commitments. Even though my job is more functional, I occasionally do a bit of development work, which I always enjoy!

  • What do you love about your job?

I enjoy being in contact with customers. You get to talk to a lot of people, and meet a lot of different situations. I sometimes work with Schools in Munich, Barcelona, London and Tunis, sometimes in the same day. It's very enriching.

  • What do you like about Kosmos?

The family spirit and good atmosphere. We're lucky enough to work with prestigious Schools with high stakes. I find that very exciting.

  • If you hadn't done this job, what would you have done?

As a child, I wanted to be a chef. And I've always wanted to take over the family farm to look after the cows, pigs and chickens.

  • A place you often visit near Metz?

The lakes route on the old aquatic Maginot Line. A great place to get out into nature, cycle and recharge your batteries!
